Baby Angels’ Christmas
by Sister Margaret Sutton RSM

“Ker-choo!” sneezed baby angel
As the dust blew high.
“I’m sweeping hard, I guess,”
An angel boy replied.
“But we cannot waste time
Before our Guests arrive,
They’re coming now by donkey---
Coming down the drive.”
“Ker—choo!” again was heard
As hay was brought to fill a
manger-bed for Jesus,--
To come when all was still.
But first the hay is placed
Inside the feeding trough.
Then covered with a blanket
So clean, and white, and soft.
The other baby angels are
Practicing their song
To sing to Baby Jesus, for
They knew right along
Glad angels sang of Jesus
Sang to shepherds, where
They watched their flocks in fields.
Clear music filled the air.
“Give Glory to God on high”
They sang—“In a manger-bed
You’ll find the new-born Jesus—
Believe what He has said.”
The shepherds left their flocks
And went to Bethlehem, where
Jesus, Mary, Joseph
Together greeted them.
There angels sang their song of
Welcome to the Lord.
The shepherds bowed believing,
While worshiping their Lord.
“We thank you, Mother Mary,”
The angels sang in glee.
“We’ll love and praise Him always.
The LORD our GOD is HE ! “
Can you draw a picture of little angels getting ready for Jesus?
Maybe you will want to read the poem again and see what the angels are
doing.
Maybe you can think of other things they could be doing, like holding a
lantern so there is some light, or bringing the hay in on a little red
wagon.
What do you think you would do if you were there? Why not talk about it
with friends, or family?
Hope you have a peaceful and loving Christmas. Remember Jesus is the
Greatest Gift you can receive. Other gifts just remind us of Him and of
the great LOVE He has for us.

Merry
Christmas
